Special Needs Training
All available research, clinical, and anecdotal evidence supports physical fitness being essential for the development of optimal independence, health, and quality of life. Physical fitness especially in movement based protocols is a missing component in many special needs educational programs. This situation results in kids who do not develop adequate foundation skills (strength, stability, motor planning) which are required to engage in more complex activities and activities of daily living.
The foundation of special needs physical functioning programming is based in fundamental movements. Basic goal is to increase strength, stability and motor planning in all major movement patterns. As strength, stability and gross motor deficit are the greatest physical challenge to quality of life.
